Ysgol O. M. Edwards is part of the Gwynedd Healthy Schools Scheme. We’ve completed Phase 5, and now working on the National Quality Award. The principal objectives of the scheme are to:•develop a positive whole-school attitude towards food and nutrition, ensuring that healthy eating is promoted;•develop the school as a workplace that promotes the social, physical and emotional health of every member of staff;•reinforce self-worth and promote the mental health of all pupils;•display a commitment to improving the school environment, so as to promote the health and well-being of the entire school community;•ensure long-term schemes that provide every pupil with an opportunity to participate in physical activities on a regular basis;•ensure that the entire school is a non-smoking environment that emphasizes the advantages of not smoking;•ensure that the school has a Drug-prevention Policy supported by a planned drug and alcohol education programme;•display a commitment to Sex and Relationships Education by possessing a planned education programme and policy;•ensure that the school considers safety to be a priority, by being proactive rather than reactive.Useful Links:•Schoolbeat•Change4life•Golchi dwylo•EBug
